Mission Statement:
The purpose of our program is to give all young athletes a chance to excel in the sport of competitive cheerleading, reaching for the highest level. We at Wildcats strive to be competitive while trying hard to place all interested athletes on a squad, while keeping in mind that each individual has their own skill level. We place each participant on a team suitable for their skill level and needs (i.e. tumbling or non-tumbling). Our staff is dedicated to instructing & training our athletes to their highest potential, while maintaining a controlled & positive environment. The ultimate goal, both individually and through teamwork, is to gain physical fitness, build self worth, and self confidence as well as trust in each other, instilling good sportsmanship in participants and more importantly, to have fun while mastering the skill of cheerleading. All-star cheerleading requires a great deal of commitment from not only the athletes themselves, but the parents behind the athlete. We encourage all athletes to work hard and to their abilities to create a once in a lifetime opportunity. You will become a valuable asset to our organization with a little hard work, proper instruction, good work ethics, and the desire to excel!
Our team mission is what makes Wildcat Allstar Cheerleading a unique place to be.
HOW WE BECAME WILDCATS
HISTORY OF WILDCAT ALL-STARS: The Wildcat All-stars were formed in the Summer of 2000 while I was teaching cheerleading and tumbling at the YMCA in Burnham, PA. We had try-outs and had 12 girls to form a midget level team , after the summer I decided to move the program to the Perry Juniata gymnastic facility in Mifflintown, PA there the team would have proper equipment to train , spring floor, trampolines and would also have the opportunity to take tumbling classes. In 2001 the Wildcats became the " Perry Juniata Wildcats " also known as the PJ Cats, and would enter their first competition season as a small senior team of 17 girls. The first competition season ended with 2 first places and strong second place finish at the Cheertyme competition in Harrisburg. The next season began in the summer of 2001-2002 we had a small coed senior team of 17 girls and 1 boy, at the beginning of the summer and added the Wildcat junior team of 13 girls. That season had many awards from local competitions in Lewistown, Harrisburg , Mifflinburg and Hershey. 2002 -2003 was our biggest year as try-outs brought over 55 kids to the program and a new look of the Wildcats. The Wildcat Club was formed and all new uniforms were purchased and a new team was added the well know " Kittens" squad that awwed crowds all over the state . The Wildcats were up to 3 teams. pee-wee , junior prep and senior coed . The Wildcats traveled to Johnstown to PA state championships and competed in Hershey, Mifflinburg , Harrisburg , Cumberland Valley , and won many awards. 2003-2004 the Wildcats grew to over 65 and moved to a bigger location , the Fayette Lions Den in Mcallisterville , PA. A senior dance team was added this year . the Wildcat Club purchased a cheer floor and hired a gymnastics coach , the junior and senior coed teams competed for the first time at Cheerpower National Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Both teams finished strong and finished in the top 10. 2004-2005 the Wildcats still began to grow ,try-outs brought over 70 cheerleaders and 3 teams, the Wildcat Club also purchased brand new uniforms for every team. Even more space was needed and more practice time , the Wildcats moved to the Port Royal Community Building in the fall of 2004 -2005. Our best year to date , growing as a team to be known in Central PA. As the teams grow stronger the awards and trophies come easy winning 3 Grand Championships , spirit awards , and the senior team was the 2005 Cheerpower National Champions , what a great year and a team that will never be forgotten! 2005-2006 with over 85 cheerleaders in the program . the teams grew larger, pee-wee, youth , large junior, senior coed and our new hip hop dance team. With harder stunts , stronger tumbling and a large number of new talent the Wildcats continue to grow and make our team special. 2006-2007 we know have minis, youth, lg junior coed, sr coed, sr extreme teams. Youth & Sr teams continued to have a fine season, winning many grand championships and 1st place awards. Junior coed went undefeated over the entire season including taking a first place national & world championship. This was the only central PA team to win both Nationals & Worlds, wow what a great year! 2007-2008 is our biggest year yet, we just keep growing as the years go by. We had over 100 + members including an entirely new team in Centre County. All our teams are doing very well this year, Sr Extreme won the "PA State Championship", & Lg Junior coed, Sr coed, Sr Extreme have earned bids to go to Final Destination the worlds best in May. Many other awards have been won this year and we look forward to many more. We now have 2 team locations, one in Port Royal and the other in Pleasant Gap, 12 coaches , and myself; the Wildcats continue to make strides in the All-star cheerleading world. We thank all the parents for all their hard work and dedication in making the Wildcats what they are!!
Cheers
